This spring I had one painting juried into the MBPAPA Signature Show
and two paintings selected for the All Members Show. My painting,
Breaking Waves, was awarded 2nd place at the MBPAPA year long show at
Natividad Hospital.
My painting "Elkhorn Spring" was selected for the 94th Santa Cruz
California Statewide Landscape Show. Kim Lordier was the juror this
year.

Oops, Broken hip & leg
I showed my paintings again this year at Silicon Valley Open Studios.
The last day was Mother's Day. I really know how to celebrate, I passed
out that evening, fell and broke my hip/leg. It was a pretty bad brake
requiring four hours of surgery and five weeks in a care facility. I
have been working hard to get back to walking normally. It happened
three days before the Carmel Art Festival. It would have been my 14th
year. Needless to say, I didn't make it. Hope to go next year.
I had planned a trip with my daughter and her family to England in
August. Needless to say I couldn't make it either. But my energy has
been good and has allowed me to paint at my French easel in my back
yard.

My goal is to be fully functioning by the Sonoma Plein Air Festival the
2nd week of September. This will be my fourth time enjoying the
hospitality and beauty of this gorgeous area. After painting for the
week the wet paintings will be available on Saturday, the 13th in
Courthouse Square.

Mountain Song - Feature Show
The whole month of December I will be featured artist at Viewpoints
Gallery in Los Altos. The show, Mountain Song, will include new works
highlighting the Sierras as seen from both the east face and the
valleys of Yosemite. High mountain streams and fall foliage punctuated
with golden aspens against clear blue skies.
Opening reception will be Friday the 5th from 5 to 8pm. I will be at
the gallery several Saturdays during the month. 315 State Street, Los
