Carmel Art Festival

The Festival is on again! The 15th Carmel Festival begins with artists covering the Monterey Peninsula painting subjects as diverse as the magnificent coastline, picturesque cottages and working farms. This will be the third time Julia has been selected for this very prestigious event.

The Napa Valley Art Festival is a juried exhibit and sale featuring 40 of the west's premier representational artists. 3rd Annual 2008 Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout
Location: Jackson Park, Alameda, CA

This will be the third year Julia has been invited to participate in the Alameda Plein Air event. The "Island" is full of picturesque Victorians, Mediterranean & Craftsman Bungalows as inspitiration for painting subjects. After three days of painting the works will be exhibited and available for sale in the beautiful tree lined Jackson Park. Robert Mondavi Winery hosts at the event with wine tasting and awards.
Julia's painting of the Frank Bette Art Center from a previous festival, has been honored by being used as the cover for the catalogue.

Estes Park Plein Air Painting the Parks
Location: Cultural Arts Art Gallery, Estes Park, CO

Reception: 8/23/2008 • 4pm - 8pm
This will be the fourth time Julia has been selected to participate in this wonderful event in Colorado. With the Rocky Mountain National Park and it's stunning scenery and the charming frontier atmosphere, this festival is hard to beat. There will be a quick draw Saturday morning in River Walk Park, with period costumed models and a live auction to follow. At 4pm the galleries open, exhibiting the best works from the two weeks of painting. Awards are announced at 6pm. Exhibition and Plein Air Art Walk continues at both galleries through the end of September.
